The Colorado State DOT requirements must always be adhered to by Colorado Boat Transporters. Conditions for larger boats:
In Colorado, the hours of operation for boat transportation are round-the-clock. There can be certain regulations for nighttime travel. Every boat that is wider than 8’6″ needs a state permit. To get a permit, give yourself at least 24 hours’ notice before shipment. Remember that certain metropolitan regions and cities could call for supplementary permissions.
Applications for loads more than 17 feet wide must be submitted at least one week before the relocation date. Every boat wider than 11 feet has to be escorted. For weights taller than 16 feet, a height pole is necessary. Prior to shipment, any load that may be lowered to the permissible height of 13’6″ must be done so. Travel is not allowed on Sundays, and there may be limitations during state and federal holidays. Visit https://www.codot.gov for additional information.
Any boat transport, including powerboat, sailboat, yacht, and small boat transport, is covered by this information.
