Boat Transport in South Dakota

South Dakota state DOT standards must always be followed by South Dakota boat transporters. Conditions for larger boats: In South Dakota, there are set hours of operation for carrying boats. Typically, the business is open seven days a week from a half hour before dawn to a half hour after dusk.

Every boat that is wider than 8’6″ needs a state permit. Please dial 605-356-0124. Permits may only be used for up to three days. Remember that certain metropolitan regions and cities could call for supplementary permissions.
Every boat wider than 16 feet has to be escorted.

Prior to shipment, any load that may be lowered to the permissible height of 13’6″ must be done so.
During federal and state holidays, there can be travel limitations.
