Boat Transport in West Virginia

West Virginia State DOT Regulations must always be followed by West Virginia Boat Transporters. Conditions for larger boats:

The hours of operation for hauling a boat in West Virginia are limited. Typically, operations run from dawn until sundown.
Every boat that is wider than 8’6″ needs a state permit. Planning will need a full day in advance. When placing an online purchase, be sure your insurance is on file. Give the permission at least 24 hours. Remember that certain metropolitan regions and cities could call for supplementary permissions.

Any boat wider than 12 feet on a two-lane roadway needs two escorts, and any wider than 15 feet needs three escorts.
Every boat wider than 12 feet requires one escort on four-lane or more-lane roadways; boats wider than 14 feet need two escorts; and boats wider than 15 feet require three escorts.
Every weight exceeding 15′ requires a height pole.
Prior to transit, any load that can be lowered to the permissible height of 13’6″ must be.
During federal and state holidays, there can be travel limitations.
